We REALLY enjoyed reading with our book buddies today!
Every other Friday, when we don't have an Otter Assembly, half of the second grade class travels upstairs to Mrs. Sullivan's classroom and half of her students come down to our classroom. The children take turns reading to to each other, as they sit wherever they are most comfortable, EEKK style -- elbow, to elbow, knee, to knee with a book in between them.
Buddy reading is not only a time to share a favorite book, it is also a time to foster mutual respect (and friendship) between grades.
